Digitize Performance

Describes the performance of the 10, 12 and 14 bit digitizers used in the CS328A. Discusses dynamic range, cross talk and noise sources. Displays graphs of typical performance.

Integration and filtering

We have had a few question about using the maths function of cleverscope to do time integrals so here is a step by step guide showing you how to calculate the power consumption of an electronic circuit that draws a variable current.

Cscope 4 Channel

Version 4.200 The Cleverscope 4 channel application is used to link two CS328/CS328A cleverscopes together to act as a 4 channel scope, with 16 digital inputs. The Four channel application pdf tells you what you need to know.

This is an update, and you need to unzip into the Program Files/Cleverscope directory. It has some improvements in performance and reliability.

Win98 PI+II Install

Download this .zip file to install Cleverscope v3.309 on Win98 SE - WinXP systems for Pentium I and II processors. NOTE: These platforms are no longer supported, and this is the last version for Pentium I and II processors. This version is identical to version 3512, with the exception of digital graphs. Digital graphs can be displayed in either normal, or large formats, but the plots do not resize to suit the number of digital inputs selected.

Cscope Control DLL V2

Version 2. Collection of DLL + Simple Scope examples for Labwindows 7.1, Microsoft VS2005 C++, Microsoft VS2005 C#, Microsoft Visual Basic 2005, Borland Delphi 5 and Borland C++ Builder 6. The DLL supports multiple connected acquisition units, and USB/Ethernet interfaces. This collection contains 'Simple Scope' examples for each environment, built using our version 2 multi acquisition unit driver. The DLL interface has changed. See the support docs in the zip. It supports firmware 4635, which uses the new Cleverscope Vid/Pid combination. Note that for each environment you will have to copy the file Cscope Control Driver.dll from the root to the appropriate sub directory. We have done this to save download time. You will also have to make sure you have the Cleverscope Runtime and USB driver installed and up to date. See Cleverscope update USB driver.pdf

Does not support the QuickUSB drivers. For older installations, you will need to update to the NI Visa driver as detailed in 'Cleverscope update USB driver.pdf'.

We have used older versions of the development tools to allow forward compatability. Anyone interested in packaging these as objects is welcome to talk to us!

Cscope Control DLL V1

Version 1. Archive. Collection of DLL + Simple Scope examples for Labview 7.1, Labwindows 7.1, Microsoft VS2005 C++, Microsoft VS2005 C#, Borland Delphi 5 and Borland C++ Builder 6 using our older Version 1 Cscope Control DLL.

The version 1 DLL does not support multiple connected acquisition units, or the Ethernet interface. We keep it here for compatability with existing projects. It does include an updated DLL that supports firmware 4635, which uses the new Cleverscope Vid/Pid combination. Note that for each envrionment you will have to copy the file Cscope Control Driver.dll from the 'DLL Builds' directory to the appropriate sub directories. We have done this to save download time.

Version 2. Cscope Control VI for Labview 7.1. Use Cscope Control Driver.llb under Labview 7.1 to programmatically initialize, acquire and replay signals using 1-8 Cleverscope Acquisition Units. Includes three top most applications 'Simple Scope', 'Simple Scope 2 unit' and 'Bandpass Response' to show you how to use the driver, and an executable version of each, with the Labview build to make it. Includes a pdf describing the vi. Works with the CS328 and CS328A over USB1.1 or USB2.0, and Ethernet. Includes full connection status, and the ability to recover from disconnects. The driver supports stepping of the signal generator in the acquisition unit on a trigger, and automatic playback of a sequential frame capture (with up to 2999 frames) to the calling application. We include a simple application Bandpass Response that shows how this can be used to plot the bandpass response of a network much faster than the standard Cleverscope approach. You will need v6431 or V5331 firmware loaded into your CS328A or CS328.

Includes external clock support. Includes support for multiple units. Includes Ethernet support. Requires firmware v6431 to take full advantage.

Full WinXP/Vista Install

Cleverscope V4.640 Full Installer for Win XP and Vista/64. Provides a complete install. Works with both CS328 and CS328A. Only required if you you mislay the original CD and have to re-install. To update an existing installation, go to the Downloads page and get the update file. Uncompress the enclosed 'Cscope Install 64xx' directory onto your hard disk. Run the setup.exe inside. Click the options you require. If you are using a classic CS328, make sure you tick the 'Install Legacy Cleverscope CS328 Driver' option.
